In Short: We only process your personal information when we believe it is necessary and we have a valid legal reason (i.e., legal basis) to do so under applicable law, like with your consent, to comply with laws, to provide you with services to enter into or fulfill our contractual obligations, to protect your rights, or to fulfill our legitimate business interests.
If you are located in the EEA, this section applies to you.
The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) requires us to explain the valid legal bases we rely on in order to process your personal information. As such, we may rely on the following legal bases to process your personal information:

We are based in the United States, and most of our service providers process data there, with some processing in the European Union. If you are accessing our Services from outside the United States, please be aware that your information may be transferred to, stored by, and processed by us in our facilities and in the facilities of the third parties with whom we may share your personal information, in the United States, and other countries.
If you are a resident in the European Economic Area (EEA), then these countries may not necessarily have data protection laws or other similar laws as comprehensive as those in your country. However, we will take all necessary measures to protect your personal information in accordance with this Privacy Notice and applicable law.
Where we transfer personal information from the EEA to a country without an adequacy decision, we rely on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework where the recipient is certified under it, and otherwise on standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission.

In Short: We keep your information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this Privacy Notice unless otherwise required by law.

We retain your email address and account data for as long as your account is active. Upon account deletion, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.
Some Services send what you type, such as a search query, to our AI provider to produce a response. We use it only to produce that response and do not store it on our servers. Where a Service keeps a result for you on our servers, it keeps only the result we generated, never the text you typed. Some Services keep your recent searches or results in your browser. Results stored on our servers are deleted when you delete your account. Feedback and reports you send in our apps use fixed options, not free text.
When we have no ongoing legitimate business need to process your personal information, we will either delete or anonymize such information, or, if this is not possible (for example, because your personal information has been stored in backup archives), then we will securely store your personal information and isolate it from any further processing until deletion is possible.

You can unsubscribe from our marketing and promotional communications at any time by clicking on the unsubscribe link in the emails that we send, or by contacting us. You will then be removed from the marketing lists. However, we may still communicate with you — for example, to send you service-related messages that are necessary for the administration and use of your account, to respond to service requests, or for other non-marketing purposes.

If you choose to remove cookies or reject cookies, this could affect certain features or services of our Services.
13. CONTROLS FOR DO-NOT-TRACK FEATURES
Most web browsers and some mobile operating systems and mobile applications include a Do-Not-Track ("DNT") feature or setting you can activate to signal your privacy preference not to have data about your online browsing activities monitored and collected. At this stage, no uniform technology standard for recognizing and implementing DNT signals has been finalized. As such, we do not currently respond to DNT browser signals or any other mechanism that automatically communicates your choice not to be tracked online. If a standard for online tracking is adopted that we must follow in the future, we will inform you about that practice in a revised version of this Privacy Notice.

18. HOW DO WE PROCESS INFORMATION ABOUT PEOPLE NAMED IN PUBLIC RECORDS?
In Short: Some of our Services publish and analyze public records and sports statistics, which can name people. We process this information in the public interest in access to official information, and you can object.
Some of our Services collect documents published by public institutions and sports statistics. These sources can include the names and roles of people, such as public officials, parties to court cases, appointees to public positions, people and companies named in regulatory and legal decisions, and professional athletes.
We process this information to provide a searchable record and analysis of these public sources, on the basis of our legitimate interest, and the public's, in access to official information (Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR). In some Services, we attempt to remove personal contact details, such as email addresses and phone numbers, from the text we publish, and we instruct the models that write summaries of official documents not to name individuals, other than senior public office-holders acting in that role and in the official names of court cases.
We keep published entries as a permanent public record.
Your right to object. If you are named in a source we publish and the GDPR applies to you, you have the right to object to our processing of information about you, and to ask us to correct or erase it. Contact us at
support@hjartdalstudios.com and we will assess your request.
